Client: Biryuch Innovation Centre develops products in the areas of foodtech, biotechnology and artificial intelligence.
Situation: The Biryuch centre has 7 laboratories. The number of scientific projects is growing. As a result, the management is facing a shortage of staff. In order to interest graduates of profile specialities, they decided to hold a series of events in major cities.
Task: To develop the concept of the events and organise them. The purpose of the events is PR and attracting specialists.
What we did: We prepared two event concepts.
The first one is a scientific and educational conference in the format of an open meeting:
We hold it at an independent venue, inviting students from different universities of the city.
For each meeting, we make a web site with the programme of the event, registration form, and information about internships.
We choose live communication. During open meetings, the moderator interacts with the audience in an engaging question-and-answer format. Interactivity is a way to enthuse students about innovative developments. By the way, it is not only possible to look at the products: we organise tastings of the CI's developments for the participants.
For open meetings, we prepare a lecture by a special guest of interest to the audience.
The second concept is a biotechnology quiz:
Students from the same university participate. We hold it on the site of the university itself.
We put together a HI BIO MATCH quiz made up of topical questions on biotechnology and the food industry.
First, students listen to the presentation of the innovation centre and then play to better understand the essence of its work.
We also additionally stimulate interest:
We hold a ‘Young Scientist’ competition. It motivates to participate in the events and helps to identify the most active students.
We launch an outreach campaign: we cover the events in the city and regional media and publish articles about the Innovation Centre itself.
Result: During 2023-2024 we held 9 open meetings and 6 quizzes. At each event we collected from 40 to 80 questionnaires with an average number of 80 participants. All questionnaires are qualified leads, i.e. students who are ready to intern and work at the Biryuch Centre after graduation.
